Sokratis has over 12 years of experience in financing and managing real estate, both debt and asset positions, involving the full credit cycle from high profile Real Estate Structured Transactions and NPL management to REO management, with extensive exposure to all property sectors in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Cyprus.
Sokratis was formerly a Deputy Director at Alpha Bank AE - Special Situations Division, managing a circa EUR 1 bn Greek real estate asset backed portfolio (2017), while previously he co-managed as Active Deputy Director a EUR 1,3 bn asset backed Cyprus loan portfolio (2016), leading the optimal deleveraging - asset extraction strategies and managing the overall REO process (SPV setup, funding underwriting, asset onboarding and corporate administration).
During 2013 – 2015, Sokratis served as an Investment Manager at Alpha Bank – Investment Banking, managing and successfully turning around a 12 SPV – REO multi asset portfolio involving Residential, Office, Retail and Hotel Properties located in Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.
From 2008 to 2013 Sokratis was a Project Finance Manager at Alpha Bank - Investment Banking, actively structuring, originating and managing a portfolio of EUR 400 mil. complex non-recourse LMA Loan Facilities (minimum >EUR 35 mil.) and advising on a wide aspect of project related issues pertinent mainly to international clients over Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece. Finally, before 2008, he served as an Investment Analyst in Piraeus Bank Real Estate and Investment Representative in Citibank plc.
He holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Athens, a M.Sc. in International Economics, Banking & Finance from the University of Cardiff, and a M.Sc. in Applied Economics and Finance with a specialization in Quantitative Finance and Financial Engineering from Athens University of Economics & Business.
