These capabilities are complemented by the extensive distressed restructuring experience of our senior team. Together, this knowledge ensures that our clients’ issues are fully understood, analysed and optimal asset management strategies are developed and implemented.

Together with our comprehensive knowledge of office, retail, industrial and multi-family real estate segments, we also have extensive experience working with less traditional asset classes, such as hotels, car parks, self storage, development and real estate related corporates. When appropriate, we utilise the capabilities of specialist partners in order to fully address the peculiarities of specialised assets.

Resolute recognises and fully appreciates the differences between real estate assets compared with financial assets that are underpinned by real estate. Resolute is focused on the financial asset market and our real estate capabilities form only a part of the capability we bring to bear on our clients’ assets.

We believe that distressed restructuring capability needs to be combined with intensity of asset management in order to achieve the best possible outcome. Accordingly, we ensure that every transaction has an appropriate and dedicated team assigned to it. Where we feel that additional resources are required, we exploit our extensive industry network in order to make additional hires. As we believe that local knowledge is always key, we will often utilise dedicated local staff.

For every asset we advise on, the dedicated team will prepare a detailed business plan that is reviewed and discussed by our Risk Committee. Once approved, this plan forms the basis for executing our proposed asset management strategy. The business plan is frequently revisited by the Risk Committee and updated as appropriate.  In general, once the business plan has been approved by our clients, we are authorised to implement it without further approvals, although this is a matter we discuss with each client on assuming a mandate.

Whilst we use a rigorous and disciplined process for developing and implementing business plans for the assets we manage, we pride ourselves on our ability to move swiftly in response to our clients needs.

We align our interests with those of our clients through a focus on performance-based fees. This approach is reflected by the performance and incentive-based compensation arrangements of our own team, ensuring that every employee is entirely aligned with the interests of our clients.

We do not act as an investor, and hence are not subject to the conflicts of interest that are often inherent in investments that are both owned and managed. Where restructuring activities require the introduction of fresh capital, we are able to use existing relationships to source investment on market terms.
